Watched it when I was younger, stopped awhile, got back into if again after some of my other friends started watching stuff, then started watching pretty much nothing but anime because everything else on tv was boring as heck.
My story started when I was little. Me, my brother, and sister would watch toonami on cartoon network. I liked naruto and all them good stuff lol. Then some how later on ended up watching elfen lied...I think a friend showed it to me but from then on I liked anime and I still do.
My first anime was, i think, Sgt. Frog... maybe something else tho. I didn't even realize this until like last year but, I started listening to the genre of music called Nightcore. The more I searched it on youtube the more anime pictures I saw until I gave up and decided to watch another one. I was hooked. Since then I have watched many animes and commonly quote them at random times during everyday life.
Back about... Maybe a little over 15 months ago, I was bored, and I'd heard my friend talking about Fairy Tail a lot the day before. So I figured, "why not look for some good animes? It seems to be pretty good..."
So I found Angel Beats, watched it, cried like a 5 year old, and that's how I started.
I do believe Pokemon is an anime and that's where I started out x3
I used to watch heaps of Pokemon movies and the regular TV shows when they were aired back then when I was a kid, I loved it. OH YEAH AND TRAAAAANSFORMERS! The originals, not the silly Michael Bay ones; the original shows and the 1986 movie.
Then later, obviously Naruto, to shorten this; I started out by just reading the manga from about volume 1 to 60 and then watched few of the anime, got REALLY bored of that and moved onto reading Fullmetal Alchemist.
Oh yeah, I've found these manga through the local library from where I live(d).
Rurouni Kenshin, one of my favourite anime of all time, I started out by reading the first 10 volumes of the manga from my local library and then watched the rest online, I loved the storyline, characters, music, it was just perfect.
Without Pokemon or Transformers, I would never really have touched anime at all I guess ;S
I ... really dislike cartoons for their overall failure to bring entertainment.
The first anime I EVER saw, was (Hey, saw and was are just the same letters but backwards....) One Piece. That was when I was 4 in Bolivia, so I didn't really understand the storyline or what they were doing, since I would just turn on the TV and BOOM! (Come along, and bring along, all of your hopes and dreams....) What didn't help was that I saw the later episodes first, so that was confusing.
Then, when I got to middle skewl, my brother had a friend who had a friend that was obsessed with manga and anime, so then he checked out a copy of Volume 1 of Fullmetal Alchemist, and then it started. We were obsessed with Fullmetal Alchemist, and when we found out that Brotherhood (at least, 4 out of the 5 seasons of it) and the original series was on Netflix, we jumped on it and watched a lot. Then we decided to watch Fairy Tail, and then Bleach, and then AOT. Then I also watched SteamBoy, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away. Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Hayao Miyazaki brought me to the world of Anime.I watch Howle's Moving Castle and after i had watched his movies i started watching Yu-gi-oh,Pokemon and then i started with FA and went deeper and deeper with horror and mystery anime.
Then i became an Otaku and took the decision to put anime posters in my room and start collecting Anime figures.
However, from like 4 year old i always loved Japan and the people and i always felt like i have a past-life there.Who knows?
