Personally I would like to see an option for maybe a white theme I am not sure if that's possible (so people can choose black or white) it does hurt my eyes to have a whole black theme which kinda makes me not really want to post much because yeah... I don't find it easy for my eyes to follow.
I'd say that we try to make the whole community spark alive; commonly people would suggest that a site that's under the revival process should hold more activities like giveaways and such (with prizes).
Other than that; from my perspective as an ex-staff member, I'd say that we'd add more options to multiple applications over the internet. Most common example is an MC server but I don't recommend this entirely since this community revolves around a very large group of otakus and RP-ers.
Since it revolves around that, though, why don't we add a particular section to the site for JRPGs and all sorts of that stuff; y'know maybe anime-related so that people could share stuff together (characters, progress, etc).
I'm not a big otaku myself but hey; it's still worth a shot if you guys are willing to do it
Tbh, you have to take into account that OtakuNet was never mean't to be large. Just one thing led to another and the community grew huge and unmanageable. Because of that, many have left for sites such as OtakuNet. It's not so much as we need a revival, as we need to get back to the roots. Not trying to actively recruit members, no events, nothing of the sort. Just a place to hang out.

Maybe scratch off all the attracting section and turn this site over for people to come over and chill out? idk I'm running out of ideas
I think that's exactly what Kraz suggested. I think it could work out, so long as at least a good number of the old members are active. I'm on this site a fair bit, but I'm not sure how many others frequently come here, and without at least 5-6 people, the site will go empty pretty quickly again.

I agree. If anything, we need to return to our roots. This community's original purpose was to be a hangout place for people and then it just grew up all of a sudden.
If any of you really are serious about this, perhaps we should form a skype group for the purpose and discuss about what to do. I'm ready to support the idea, but I obviously can't and won't do it all on my own, haha.

Well, I know I haven't been around enough, but I am willing to help whenever!

Otaku & Chill :3
If anything, figure out what makes people like to just "hangout" in a place that's for anime/manga at most. Maybe some community games that you all have in common, like KanColle
